CBF training on Hermetic Bag and Cereal Crop Insurance
March 19, 2023: A two days technical training for Community Business Facilitators (CBFs) has kicked off in Dang Ghorhai at Hotel City Plaza.
The training is being conducted under “Reducing Post harvest Losses through Access to New Technologies -RePLANT) project which is being implemented in five palikas of Dang district including Rapti R. Municipality, Lamahi Municipality, Ghorahi Sub Metropolis, Tulsipur Sub Metropolis and Dangisharan R. Municipality.
The project RePLANT is funded by USAID, technically supported by iDE and implemented by Rural Women Development Center-RWDC (Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra).
A total of 35 participants including 17 CBFs are attending the training sessions.
The training sessions are felicitated by Senior Agriculture Officer of Prime Ministers Agriculture Project Lamahi, Mr. Regmi who dealt with the Farm Mechanization and production practices of major cereal crops in Dang.
Similarly, Senior Plant Protection Officer from Agriculture Knowledge Center (AKC) Agronomy department delivered his presentations on various aspects of Post harvest management of Cereal crops.
Likewise, the RePLANT program officer Srishti Shah presented her slides on various enemies of agriculture productions in maize and other cereal crops. Then RWDC supervisor for Marketing and Agriculture Hima Poudel discussed about the Hermetic bags through practical session taken by participant Sher Bahadur and his colleague.
Lastly, the iDE regional field program manager Kalpana Dhital presented her Integrated Pest Management (IPM) related slides to the participants.
The second day training began with recap of the previous day and transfer of responsibilities of participants for management, report presentation etc. Then the session was taken by Kalpana Dhital of iDE regional office. She dealt with the Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
Then the session were taken by senior agriculture officer of Agriculture knowledge center (AKC)on process of claiming crop insurance. Then the Sidharth Insurance company representatives shared the idea of process cereal crops and conditions related to it.
Then the concluding session were addressed by RWDC Chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary. Earlier to this, participants were awarded with training participation certificates.
