RWDC Holds 29th General Convention

Rural Women Development Centre-RWDC (Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra) organized its 29th general convention on December 2, 2023, amidst a formal function held in the conference hall of RWDC.

The convention that marked the end of 29 th year of its inception days was attended by over 50 general members along with senior core staff members. The convention was presided over by the chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary while the program was facilitated by secretary Sarita Chaudhary.

The RWDC yearly progress report was presented by Basanta Pun and the yearly budget for 2079/080 was presented by treasurer Meera Chaudhary while the whole project overview was delivered by chair Aasmani Chaudhary. The RWDC yearly activity progress report and budgets spent and proposed for upcoming years were passed by the house members of the convention.

The total seven board members of RWDC including chair Aasmani Chaudhary,  Meera Chaudhary, Kamala Chaudhary, Sarita Chaudhary, Mina Giri, Basanta Pun, and Madhaba Pokharel were present on the occasion while the legal advisor cum founder Shogat Bir Chaudhary and other advisor Rajani Shrestha were also present on the occasion.

Both advisors Rajani Shresth and Shogat Bir Chaudhary addressed the convention and reminded the audience of the prideful moments of celebrating the 29th anniversary the difficult times full of challenges and the successful history of the RWDC.

Presiding chair Aasmani Chaudhary during her concluding remarks said she remembers the days of difficult times during which Sunita Chaudhary also contributed to the growth of the organization.

The convention was held with the orientation about the formation of 3 Zero clubs (zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero carbon emission) to protect the planet from the adverse impacts of climate change and global warming. These orientations were facilitated by focal persons Shiva Chaudhary and Parbati Basnet.
