RWDC Board Conducts Joint Monitoring Visit in Rajpur and Gadhawa.
1 January 2026
On 25 December 2025, the Rural Women Development Centre (RWDC) conducted a Joint Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) visit of Board members in Gadhawa and Rajpur Rural Municipalities of Dang district under the project “Strengthening Women-Led Families Through Safe Housing and Advocacy (SWFHA),” which is being financially supported by NIVAS US Denver.

The monitoring program brought together RWDC Executive Committee members, board advisors, committee representatives, and project staff to review the progress, quality, and overall effectiveness of ongoing project interventions. The visit aimed to ensure transparency, accountability, and compliance with approved project plans, technical standards, and stated objectives.
Progress and Quality Assessment of Low-Cost Housing
During the field visits, the monitoring team closely inspected both ongoing and completed housing construction works of beneficiary households. Overall, the project activities in the monitored wards were found to be progressing in line with the approved work plan. The construction quality was assessed as satisfactory, with structures meeting the required technical specifications and design standards.
The program also provided an opportunity for direct engagement with beneficiaries, who shared encouraging feedback on the project’s support. Many beneficiaries reported noticeable improvements in household safety, housing quality, and overall living conditions, highlighting the project’s positive impact on their daily lives.

Supporting Education and Daily Well-Being
In addition to housing interventions, the monitoring team observed complementary support activities that enhanced the project’s broader social impact. School bags and stationery materials were provided to the daughters of Ms. Nirmala Chaudhary, who are managing sickle cell conditions, to support their continued access to education. Furthermore, basic household utensils were distributed to selected beneficiaries by Ms. Rajani Shrestha, Board Advisor, contributing to improved comfort and dignity in the everyday living of the beneficiaries.
Strengthening Coordination and Oversight
The Joint M&E visit highlighted strong coordination between RWDC field staff and beneficiary communities. The active involvement of RWDC’s Executive Committee members, advisors, and project team enabled on-site guidance, technical advice, and managerial oversight, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to delivering high-quality, transparent, and accountable results.
Looking Ahead
The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation program reaffirmed the positive progress and direction of the SWFHA project. With continued supervision, timely corrective measures, and sustained technical support, the project remains well-positioned to achieve its objectives—ensuring that women-led families in rural Dang access safe, sustainable, and dignified housing.

“It feels as if God Himself came and built this house for us,” said Durga Chaudhary, a beneficiary from Rajpur Rural Municipality.
