Interaction with Agri-cooperatives held

Rural Women Development Center-RWDC has concluded a one-day interaction between the RePLANT project team and agri-cooperatives at Hotel City Plaza on November 25.
The main objective of the meeting was to highlight and discuss the importance of the Hermetic Bag (PICS) bag and its adoption among the shareholder members of respective cooperatives, adoption of large-size hermetic storage (Cocoon having the capacity of one ton), Adoption of Cro Insurance among the farmers, Muktinath Bachat Khata for farmers, and wholesale lending that these cooperatives could take the benefit from.
The program was presided over by the RWDC legal advisor Shogat Bir Chaudhary, while Jung Gurung of CHISHA also graced the occasion as representative of iDE Nepal. A total of 40 participants representing journalists, common assembly members, cooperatives, agro vets, local NGO coalition head, RWDC board, and local farmers participated in the program.
The program welcome speech was delivered by Madhava Pokharel, the objective of the program by project coordinator HB Thapa. The overall project details were presented by Program Officer Sangit Adhikari, while representatives from Sidhar Premier Insurance and Muktinath Bikash Bank Ltd discussed crop insurance and bachat Khata for farmers.
Most of the participants of the meeting liked the idea of exploring the PICS bag for farmers. The concluding remarks were delivered by Shogat Bir Chaudhary.
