Interaction Meeting with Agro Vets held in Ghorahi

January 27, 2023: Dang: Rural Women Development Center -RWDC (Gramin Mahila Uthan Kendra organized a one day interaction meeting with 25 Agro Vets and Input Suppliers in Ghorahi to orient them about the ‘Reducing Post Harvest Losses through Access to New Technologies,’ (RePLANT)project.

The interaction program was presided over by RWDC founding chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary while iDE team including Program Manager Astra Pradhan, Field Program Manager Mrs Kalpana Dhital and Market Development Officer Sudip Bikram Karki were present on the occasion. RWDC information officer Parbati Basent was also present in the interaction meeting.

The program began with the hosting of Program Officer Sristi Shah and introduction of participants followed by introduction to program highlighting program objectives and RWDC’s institutional highlights in the meeting by Program Coordinator Hit Bahadur Thapa.

Then the overview of the project was given by Program Manager Astra Pradhan. Field Program Manager Kalpana Dhital also highlighted various aspects of RePLANT project and Produ Improved Crops Storage (PICs) and Hermatic bags.

Then Market Development Officer Sudip Bikram Karki from iDE highlighted the criteria to select Community Business Facilitators (CBFs) by Agrovets selected for this project implementation to sell PICS or Hermatic bags.

Then selective representatives of Agro Vets spoke about their commitment to support this project. In the end the RWDC chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary gave her concluding remarks.

RePLANT project is being implemented in five municipalities (Ghorahi Sub Metropolis, Tulsipur Metropolis, Dangisharan R. Municipality, Lamahi Munbicipality and Rapti R. Municipality of Dang district with effect from December 2020 in collaboration with iDE. The program is funded by USAID.

A total of 39 participants including iDE team, RWDC team, Agrovets and journalists were present on the occasion.
