Housewarming and Handover Ceremony.

Paschim Gahira marked a meaningful milestone on 28 Poush 2082 (12 January 2026) with the housewarming (Griha Pravesh) and handover ceremony of Ms. Kailashpati Chaudhary, residing with her daughters and son. The event reflected shared happiness as neighbors, relatives, local representatives and media personnel gathered to celebrate the completion of a safe and dignified home for a vulnerable elderly-led household.

The ceremony was organized under the project “Strengthening Women-Led Families through Safe Housing and Advocacy,” implemented in Rajpur Rural Municipality through the joint efforts of the Rural Women Development Centre (RWDC), Dang, NIVAS, MetLife Foundation, and Rajpur Rural Municipality. The handover of the newly constructed earthquake-resistant house represented not only the delivery of a physical structure but also a renewed sense of security and stability for the beneficiary household.
The program was chaired by Ms. Aasmani Chaudhary, Chairperson of RWDC, and graced by Mr. Sharad Kumar Budhathoki, Chairman of Rajpur Rural Municipality, as the Chief Guest, Ms. Dhanpati Devi Yadav, Vice Chairperson; Mr. Remant Bahadur Dangi, Chief Administrative Officer; and Mr. Om Prakash Yadav, Ward Chairman of Ward No. 2, Ms. Sunita Chaudhary Head of Child and Old Citizen Department. Mr. Ramesh Chaudhary, Branch Manager of Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd.

Media representatives attending the program included Mr. Durga Lal K.C., Mr. Santosh Dahit, Mr. Santosh Subedi, Mr. Tek Bahadur Pun, and Mr. Sibu Khanal. Representatives from Inclusive Designers & Builders, members of the Tole Committee, community members, and the beneficiary family were also present, contributing to an atmosphere of unity and collective ownership.Following technical verification and confirmation of compliance with earthquake-resistant construction standards, the house was formally handed over to Ms. Kailashpati Chaudhary. The house has been constructed as a load-bearing structure with a strong foundation, cement masonry walls, CGI sheet roofing, adequate ventilation, and a raised plinth—ensuring long-term durability and protection from climatic and disaster-related risks.
Expressing her gratitude, Ms. Kailashpati Chaudhary shared that the new home has provided her family with security, dignity, and peace of mind. The housewarming and handover ceremony thus symbolized not only the completion of a home but also the collective commitment of project partners and the local community to improving the lives of elderly and women-led vulnerable households and fostering hope for a safer and more resilient future.
