Ghorahi Sub Metropolis Honors RWDC chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary

Ghorahi Sub Metropolis on the occasion of its 46th establishment day has honored the Rural Women Development Center -RWDC (Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra) for contributing humanitarian services to the welfare of children and women in the last three decades.
The Lumbini Province Health Minister Raju Khanal and acting Mayor (Deputy Mayor ) Huma DC gave the appreciation letter to RWDC chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary on January 29 during a program organized in the conference hall of Ghorahi Sub Metropolis.
RWDC in the last three decades since its inception in 1993 has been contributing perennially to the creation of an empowered society through proactive advocacy, governance, awareness, improving livelihoods, human rights, child protection, formal and nonformal education of children, reproductive health rights of the rural women, climate change and adaption, disaster risk management and agro oriented project activities in collaboration with various INGOs, bilateral and multilateral donors in Dang, Banke, Bardia, Kapivastu, Arghakhanchi, Rolpa, and Pyunthan districts.
RWDC has good rapport building with local government bodies including Rajpur and Gadhawa rural municipalities as well.
RWDC in the last three decades has also promoted one microfinance company known as Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Pvt Ltd to provide micro-loans to needy families and farmers for entrepreneurship development and Sunita Trust Foundation to support scholarship programs to the poor students of community schools.
