Ghorahi MPAC sharing and learning meeting held

June 16, 2023: Dang Ghorahi: Rural Women Development Centre -RWDC organized a one day Municipality level Project Advisory Committee (MPAC) sharing, learning meeting and field visit on June 16,2023 at Ghorahi Sub Metropolis-15.

The MPAC was held under Reducing Post harvest losses through access to new technologies (Replant) project which is funded by USAID, technically supported by iDE and implemented by RWDC in five palikas of Dang district since January 1, 2023. The project alliance partners include NAF Seed Pvt Ltd, Muktinath Bank Litd,  and Sidhartha Premier Insurance.

IMPAC Meeting

The ten member MPAC led by Mayor Naru Lal Chaudahry and Deputy Mayor Huma DC attended the IMPAC meeting in the meeting hall of Ghorahi Sub Metropolis. The IMPAC meeting under the coordination of Mayor Narul Lal Chaudhary included the following members.

The IMPAC meeting started with the moderation of supervisor Hima Poudel and highlighting the objective of the IMPAC meeting by Project Coordinator (PC) Hit Bahadur Thapa before the IMPAC committee. Parbati Basnet discussed the RWDC background descriptions and its role in transforming the society in the last 29 years.

Then PO Srishti Shaha briefed the IMPAC with RePLANT detailed activities and overall budgets. Then some questions were raised by the IMPAC members to which PO Srishti Shah responded with affirmative responses. Most of the questions were raised about the use of Hermetic Bags (PICs Bag).

After that since the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and IMPAC members did not have enough time to visit the field areas of RePLANT project, CBF Remanta Pun and Sher Bahadur Pun exhibited the PICS bag demonstration in front of the IMPAC and justified that how useful the PICs bag is for the farmers to protect their cereals in the post harvest phase.

Sun light Agrovet and Samjhana Agrovet proprietors were also present on the occasion. Sun Light Proprietor Khusiram Chaudhary also spoke on the occasion. He said that the hermetic bag could be very useful for the farmers in future too. However, there is need to raise awareness about the use of this Hermetic bag.

Then, the meeting was dispersed with the concluding remarks of Mayor Naru Lal Chaudhary who said he has also been using this hermetic hag. He appreciated the efforts being done by RWDC for the promotion of farmers and reducing their post -harvest losses through the Hermetic bags.

At the end of the meeting a social audit was also discussed to make the expenditure of MPAC more transparent and accountable to the MPAC members.
