Executive Director of NIVAS Lindsey Kruger visits RWDC office

Executive Director Lindsey Kruger of an American-based humanitarian organization known as ” NIVAS visited the central office of Rural Women Development Centre-RWDC (Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra) on December 3.
Kruger was accompanied by Director of Impact and Innovation Sushma Shrestha and Niroj Maharjan, Civil Engineer and Expert. The visiting team was given a warm welcome at the RWDC office premises by the core staff and RWDC Board members with flower garlands at around 4 pm.
After the reception of the visiting team members, a meeting was held in the conference hall which was presided over by chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary. First of all, the introduction of staff was done after which the RWDC presentations related to current, and past projects and major achievements with glimpses of photos from the history were showcased on the occasion.
This was followed by the presentation on the types of houses of single women and ultra-poor people identified in the remote areas of Satbariya area in Lamahi Municipality, Rajpur Rural Municipality, and Gadhawar Rural Municipality before Lindsey Kruger, Shusha Shrestha, and Niroj Maharjan that needed housing support.
The reception program was facilitated by Bhim Kant Chaudhary while the presentations were facilitated by Basant Pun and Parbati Basnet respectively.
This was followed by an open discussion with the staff and visiting team of NIVAS. Lastly, the chief guest Lindsey Kruger spoke, and then the concluding remarks were delivered by RWDC legal advisor Shogat Bir Chaudhary and chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary.
The visiting team will be visiting and observing various single-women houses in dilapidated conditions for possible support in Rajpur and Gadhawa areas on December 4,-5 and leave for Chitwan on another humanitarian mission on December 5.
