RWDC’s 30th AGM Held

Gramin Mahila Utthan Kendra (Rural Women Development Centre-RWDC) has concluded its 30th Assembly of General Members -AGM-(General Assembly) on December 21, 2024 in its seminar hall amidst a gathering of its general members and board members in Ghorahi-15.

The AGM was chaired by its founding chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary while other life members and special members of the board also were present on the occasion.

The AGM saw the presentation of RWDC’s annual report for the last fiscal year and also the planned budgets and actions for the upcoming years. The convention also remembered the late Sunita Chaudhary who also contributed significantly to the progress and prosperity of the RWDC in its inception phase.

The other RWDC board members including Basant Pun, Sarita Chaudhary, Mina Giri spoke about the accomplishments of the past and commitment to make the organization more viable to compete with othe CSO.

Speaking during the same program, the founding chairperson, Aasmani Chaudhary, stressed the need to work more for gender equity and to prevent gender-based violence in society. She also pinpointed that the struggle to throw the yoke of male-dominated concepts in social, economic, cultural, and political affairs in the country is still ongoing and will continue until they are uprooted from society.
RWDC advisor Shogat Bir Chaudhary also highlighted some of the memories from this organization’s past struggles and wished for more tangible growth in the future, while another advisor, Rajani Shrestha, also wished for the organization to make further leaps in the future.
