RWDC Scholarship for 15 Sickle Cell trait and positive students distributed
June 14, 2024: Dang, Ghorahi: Rural Women Development Center-RWDC distributed scholarship to at least 15 students studying in various classes in various schools in Ghorahi Sub Metropolis area.



These students representing mostly Tharu community families from poor background and suffering from sickle cell anemia traits identified from Sickle camp held at Narayanpur one year ago were benefited from the scholarship in the form of school uniforms, stationaries including pen,pencil, erasers, school bags, copies etc.


The students obtaining these scholarships included those students who have already appeared in the final exam of SEE, class 12, and some studying in lower and secondary classes at the moment while few students are pursuing their studies at bachelor levels.

The scholarship distribution program was formally addressed by RWDC founding chairperson Aasmani Chaudhary, while other guests included Kamala Chaudhary, treasurer Mira Chaudhary. The program was hosted by Prabati Basnet
Present in the program among others was media person Kuldip Neupane from RSS. The scholarship distribution is a part of MetLife supported program which being implemented by RWDC. The other supplementary programs include beauty parlor and sewing and tailoring training for the targeted beneficiaries identified to be suffering of trait of Sickle cell anemia disease in Dang district.
